E-book Publishing

What are e-books?

E-books are electronic versions of your books or electronic books, so called because instead of buying a paperback or hardcover copy to read, readers can download them and read on their computers, tablets, ipads and other electronic devices. As an author, you may decide to publish only an electronic version of your book. You do not have any obligation to produce a printed version.

One of the main advantages of e-books for readers is that instead of waiting some days to receive the printed copy, readers can buy them and read immediately. For an author, it is also relatively quicker to publish an e-book.

  • My book is full color - can I have it formatted as an e-book?
Both Black and White as well as color books can be formatted as e-books.

  • Where will my e-books be sold?
In addition to the MiTruth Bookstore your books will be available with retailers such as:

  • Amazon Kindle
  • Barnes & Noble
  • Google eBookstore
  • iBookstore* (Apple's online bookstore available to iPad, iPod touch and iPhone users)
  • Kobo Distribution
  • The nook
  • Scribd.com
  • Sony

These retailers all sell e-books and MiTruth will make your book available through their websites, giving your book an extra exposure to the wider population. Electronic reading devices like iPads, iPods, Kindle, Nook, tablets and laptops have become popular in recent years, making it possible to download books and read just like you would with a physical copy of the book. Many books are now available this way.

*Apple reserves the right to accept or deny content for availability on iBookstore. If your book does not appear on the iBookstore after three months, it is possible that Apple did not accept your content for the reason of for example - typographical errors.
*Apple doesn't support all foreign languages in e-books. See our FAQ for a list of which languages Apple doesn't support.

  • How long will it take to publish my e-books?
It takes approximately two weeks from the time that you complete your order and sign off approval forms for your books to be available on MiTruth's bookstore. As for the other retailers, it could take up to 4 weeks because of their turnaround times.

  • Will the e-book version be different from the print version?
Although the contents of your book will be the same, there could be minor changes as a result of formatting requirements. This may be the case with both black and white and color e-books.

  • Who decides the price of my e-books?
Unless you have set a price for your e-book, MiTruth will put your e-book for sale at either $2.99 or $3.99, depending on the number of pages and whether it is Black and White or Full Color. Please let us know if you wish to set a different price.

  • How do I get records of my e-book sales?
Once you register with MiTruth.com, your account page is set up where you can view all your transactions with our company. This includes details of books sold of every format as well as royalty earned, which we will pay you quarterly.

  • How much royalty can I earn from my e-books?
MiTruth pays 100% royalties to authors per net proceeds from the sale of e-books. Royalties are not payable on e-books that are free or sold to the author.

  • Will my e-book be assigned an ISBN
Once you complete and submit your order, an ISBN will be allocated to your e-book. The same ISBN is used for the electronic formats, while a different ISBN is used for paperback copies.

  • Do I have to pay for copyright protection for my e-books
Your e-book is protected by the same copyright laws as your paperback copies, since they are your original work. However, if you want to ensure a full cover for your peace of mind, please visit our services section and place a copyright item in your cart, and we will register your title for you.

  • Can I update my e-books just like I update the paperback version?
If you make changes to the content of your book, this will be implemented on all the formats available unless they are non-textual changes in which case they may or may not be applied to the e-book formats.
